James had been chatting me up for weeks over text about this major surprise getaway he planned for Maddie. After their mountain-top engagement, he surprised Maddie with a downtown Savannah engagement session and stay at the sweetest bed and breakfast overlooking The Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist. This was such a surprise to Maddie, that she had to book hair and makeup days before she arrived and found shoes to go with her outfit here in town.
Maddie’s family surprised her with a carriage ride around town before our session began. James wanted to pop in for a quick drink at The Emporium before we started exploring Jones Street. Scroll through to see all the stops on their downtown Savannah engagement session.
The Emporium is located inside Perry Lane Hotel. Perry Lane is an architectural and design icon with plenty of spots for portraits. We headed out for our session and had to snap a few engagement photos in front of the hotel.
We took a short walk (which would have been easier by trolley) to Jones Street. Ranked Savannah’s most beautiful street, it’s filled with southern charm and beautiful backdrops perfect to pose in front of for your Savannah engagement session.
Their afternoon stroll along Jones Street ended along one of my favorite pink walls. Many couples choose to take photos near The Olde Pink House, but this home has less traffic and more sidewalk space. It’s a great stop to add to your Jones Street engagement session.
